In Toprace, players use cards to influence the movement of the various cars.
They influence their own and the cars belonging to the other players.
They also bet on the order of finish. The goal is to win the most money
During the game, players will:
- Buy cars
- play cards to move the cars
- place bets on the race
|
|
|
At any time during the game, one can learn the current
game state by moving the mouse over the red button in the upper right corner of the window.
If the button is green, It is your turn.

In the begining, the 6 cars will be put up for auction in random order.
Each player starts with $200,000.
The auction begins at $10,000 and players can raise the bid in increments
of $10,000. Players bid at any time they wish. The current bid price
will be shown below the car. Once the car is sold, the next car is auctioned off.
A player can purchase more than 1 car, but each player must purchase at least one.
If when the last car is being auctioned, a player doesn't own a car, he must purchase
that car at the fixed price of #30,000.
The cars are placed on the track in the order they were purchased during the auction.

If you click with the right mouse button you see your race cards (see picture to the left).
Each column represents a card. On your turn, you must play one of these cards.
To select a card, you click on the desired column.
(Example:
with the card on the left one moves the light blue vehicle 6 spaces then,
the red 5, the green 4, the yellow 3 etc.
The vehicles are always moved in the sequence indicated on the card starting at the top,
therefore first light blue, then red, then green, etc.)
)
When you choose a card, a large version of the card will be displayed in a popup window, as shown
on the left.
For each car on the card, a selecton of flags will be displayed on the track.
These flags indicate the legal places the car may be moved to. You simply click on
the flag for the location you which to move the car to.
|
| |
|
If the card displays a black car, this indicates a joker.
The player may choose to move any car that is not used elsewhere
on that card. You use the right and left arrows to change the color
of the joker car.
|
|
|
|
|
There is an additional special card(shown on the left).
This card shows 2 cars with a double arrow between them.
This card may be used in one of 2 ways:
|
|
| |
|
1. Use this as a "spurt" card.
With this you move the car that is behind along side of the car that is ahead.
2. Use this as a "breakdown" card.
In this case, the car in front is moved to the side of the track and remains there, until
the other car catches up.

There are 3 bets made during the race. When a car passes the Tipp 1, Tipp 2 and Tipp 3 markers.
At this time players see the betting window(see picture above). They then select the car they now think
will win the race. They do not need to select their own car. The table below shows the amount of money players
win or lose, depending on where the car they bet on finishes the race.
