Saint Petersburg - Rules
It's good to be Nobility

1. Game Preparation
With /join you can join the game; With /start the game is started (2-4 Players).

Alternatively, one can use the game administration tool.

2. The Game
In Saint Petersburg players compete by buying cards that represent workers(Green) Buildings(Blue) and Nobles(Orange). The turn has 4 phases, one for each category of cards and a 4th which contains special upgrade cards. The cards earn players money and/or Victory Points.
3. The Card Types

Workers:

These cards primarily give the player money(at the end of the Worker/Green Phase). The cost of the card is shown in the top left corner. In the top right corner you see the symbol that represents the type of work. This symbol is important for upgrading the card later. On the bottom of the card, it shows the benefit of the card. In the example shown, that card generates 3 Rubles per turn.

Buildings:

Buildings generate either Money or Victory points and sometimes both. In the example shown, this building would generate 1 Victory Point per turn.

Nobles:

Generally, Nobles generate fewer Victory Points than Buildings do and less money than workers. However, they score points at the end of the game based upon the number of different Nobles that you have have.

Upgrade cards:

Upgrade cards are identified by a black box around the cost of the card.
These cards may only be played over an existing card(of the same color) to upgrade it. The card being upgraded is discarded. The cost for the upgrade is the price of the upgrade card minus the value of the card being replaced, with a minimum payment of 1 ruble. When upgrading workers cards, the symbol on the card being upgraded must match the symbol on the upgrade card.

4. Game Play

In very top right corner, you will see the name of the player who's turn it is.
In the top left are the cards that are available for purchase.
Below the St. Petersburg logo(top right) you will the table that lists the 4 phases and their symbol along with the number of cards left of that type. To the right of that table you will see the symbol that indicates the current phase. Also note that the background color of the top right area will change to indicate the current phase.

Below that you will see space for the 4 player mats. To the left of the players name you will see a summary of how many rubles and VPs they will receive in each of the first 3 phases, this is based upon the cards that have purchased. To the right of their name, you see the number of VPs they have and in your own player mat you see how much money you have. In addition, you will see a hand icon, that represents the cards in the player's hand. For other players, you will see a number that shows how many cards they have. For your own hand cards, click the hand icon to show your cards, click it again to hide them. The limit on cards in your hand is 3.

Below the summary, you can see the cards that player has purchased.

To the right of the VP total you will see one or more phase symbols. Those symbols indicate that that player will start that phase.

Finally, on the right edge of the Player mat is a scroll bar, you can scroll the display of their cards by clicking and draging that scroll bar.

Each player possesses a starting capital of 25 rubles and must buy at least 2 workmen.

On their turn a player must do one of 4 actions: Buy a card, add a card to their hand, play a card from their hand or pass.

At the begining of a phase cards are drawn from that phase card deck to fill any open spaces in the 8 card slots(top left). A phase ends when all players pass in a row. Note that a player may pass and later in the phase still take an action.

At the end of the 4th phase(upgrade cards) any cards remaining in the top left, have a -1 placed on them, they now cost one less, however any cards that remain an entire round with a -1 that are not taken are discarded.

At the end of each of the first 3 phases, players receive rubles and VPs for their of that type (only cards on the player mat count, card in your hand do not). So at the end of the green phase, green cards are scored.

One can receive a discount when they purchase a card they already have. The discount is one ruble per card of that type they already have purchased. This discount can be added to the -1 on the card. However, the minimum cost for a card is 1.

To play a card from you hand(you must of course pay for it) open your hand display and drag the card to your player mat.

To pass, click the phase symbol in the top right.

To take a card into your hand, drag the card to the hand icon.

To purchase an upgrade card, drag it over the card you wish to upgrade.
